Who we are
NorthWake Media Group Inc. (“NorthWake,” “we,” “our,” “us”) is an Ontario-based media company that produces Water Ways TV, PowerBoat TV, and related content. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and how we send electronic messages under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

What we collect
We collect personal information you provide directly to us, including when you submit a form (e.g., Facebook/LinkedIn lead forms, website contact/newsletter forms) or otherwise interact with our content: - Identification & contact info (name, email, phone, region/country) - Company/role (if provided) - Interests/preferences (e.g., product categories, show updates) - Any other information you choose to provide (free-text fields, replies) We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit our websites (via cookies and analytics), such as IP address, device/browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. How we use your information (purposes)
We use personal information to:
1) Send newsletters, event updates, promotional offers, and program announcements you request or consent to receive (email marketing).
2) Communicate about media/content releases, contests, surveys, and show coverage (including FLIBS and other events).
3) Manage subscriptions and preferences; respond to inquiries; provide customer support.
4) Perform analytics to improve our websites, content, and marketing effectiveness.
5) Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

CASL: Email and electronic messages
Under CASL, our commercial electronic messages (CEMs) will: - Be sent only with express consent or other permitted basis; - Identify NorthWake as the sender and, if applicable, any party on whose behalf we’re sending; - Include our mailing address and at least one additional contact method (email, web address, or phone); - Include a working unsubscribe mechanism that is free and remains active for at least 60 days. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message or by contacting privacy@northwakemedia.com. We will process unsubscribe requests without delay (within 10 business days maximum).

Consent (how we obtain and manage it)
• Express consent: When you submit a lead form or website form, check an opt-in box, or otherwise indicate consent, you authorize us to send you CEMs and to process your information for the stated purposes. • Withdrawal: You can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing privacy@northwakemedia.com. • Clarity: Before or at the time of collection, we explain the purposes and provide our identity and contact information.

Facebook/LinkedIn lead forms and third-party sources
When you submit a lead form on platforms such as Facebook/Meta or LinkedIn, those platforms transmit your form data to us according to their terms. We use that data to contact you about the topics indicated and to manage your subscription. For email delivery and list management, we may use reputable service providers such as Mailchimp. Our CEMs will include our identity and an unsubscribe link as described above.

Cookies & analytics
We (and our service providers) use cookies and similar technologies to operate our site, remember preferences, and understand engagement. This may include Google Analytics or equivalent tools that collect de-identified usage data (e.g., pages viewed, time on site). You can control cookies through your browser settings; limiting cookies may affect site functionality. Under PIPEDA’s fair information principles, we limit collection to what is reasonable for stated purposes.

Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information with: - Service providers (e.g., email delivery, CRM, analytics, cloud hosting) who process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards; - Event partners or promotion partners only if clearly disclosed and consented to; - Lawful disclosures where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

Cross-border transfers
Some service providers may store or process personal information outside Canada. While abroad, information may be subject to foreign laws and accessible to foreign authorities. We use contractual and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes set out above or as required by law. We will securely delete or anonymize information when no longer needed.

Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards proportionate to the sensitivity of the information to protect against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your information appropriately.

Your rights (access, correction, choices)

Children
Our content and forms are intended for individuals age 16+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under applicable age thresholds without appropriate consent.
